Spotlight: Roadhouse @ Dempsey – New Menu

Dempsey has always been one of my favourite places. I can’t think of another place where bermudas, shades and idyllic afternoons go better hand in hand. With free parking to boot, it’s only obvious I don’t mind travelling down to this part of town – that is, if I have the car.

Located at one end of Block 13, Roadhouse and its signboard is easy to miss if you’re unfamiliar with the area, especially with the all the distracting furniture and art galleries sprawled all over Dempsey Hill.

Spotlight: Restaurants for Valentine’s Day 2012 in Singapore

Can you feel that tension in the air? This is just the prelude to the over-commercialized Valentine’s Day. Ah yes, the perfect excuse for all the lovers to spend that Ang Pow money you’ve collected over the CNY period.

Spotlight: Wine&Dine Singapore’s Top Restaurants 2012

Brand new year, brand new listings! No, I’m not talking about the real estate market; It’s Wine&Dine‘s 15th edition of Singapore’s Top Restaurants. Foodies will know the many publications and their annual list of awards/top restaurants in Singapore–if you didn’t, well now you do.

Those are always hounding Saunders & myself for restaurant recommendations, why not take a look at what Wine&Dine has published? *Hint hint.

While we didn’t seem to find Peach Blossoms (read their CNY 2012 menu review) to be of the ‘Best Ambience’ standard when we visited, Keystone and their awesome dishes (check out our review) are definitely deserving of their ‘Most Innovative Menu’ win. We can’t wait to see what’s up their sleeves for their new menu!

Salt Grill & Sky Bar is next up on our list, so check back soon to find out what we think!

Spotlight: Winner of E&O Search For AFC’s Next Celebrity Chef @ Delicious

If you’ve got cable and you love shows about cooking and food, the Asian Food Channel (AFC) and its ‘E&O Search For AFC’s Next Celebrity Chef’ production shouldn’t be unfamiliar.

Held at Eastern & Oriental Berhad’s (E&O) flagship outlet of Delicious at Scotts Square – which we’ve reviewed previously – the newly-crowned winner of the show, aka AFC’s next Celebrity Chef Dino Ferrari (no affiliation to the sports car brand) was introduced and he gave his first demonstration: a quick and easy Salmon Tart recipe.

While Six&Seven did not get to chance to savour E&O‘s new Creative Chef’s handiwork, we certainly did get to try out some of Delicious‘ hearty, wholecome creations–undoubtedly another highlight of this event.
