Six&Seven @ Ellenborough at Swissotel Merchant Court – CNY Lunch!

A couple of weeks ago Six&Seven was invited down to Ellenborough @ Swissotel Merchant Court for a Chinese New Year Lo Hei lunch. Chinese New Year may have come and gone, but many of us are still stuck in the festive period brooding over the dwindling red packets every year.

The lunch started with a traditional Lo Hei, as all lunches during this period do. This would have been my 10^th Lo Hei, and I do honestly wonder if there is a threshold to how much luck I can usher in through this vegetable tossing exercise.

Spotlight: Winner of E&O Search For AFC’s Next Celebrity Chef @ Delicious

If you’ve got cable and you love shows about cooking and food, the Asian Food Channel (AFC) and its ‘E&O Search For AFC’s Next Celebrity Chef’ production shouldn’t be unfamiliar.

Held at Eastern & Oriental Berhad’s (E&O) flagship outlet of Delicious at Scotts Square – which we’ve reviewed previously – the newly-crowned winner of the show, aka AFC’s next Celebrity Chef Dino Ferrari (no affiliation to the sports car brand) was introduced and he gave his first demonstration: a quick and easy Salmon Tart recipe.

While Six&Seven did not get to chance to savour E&O‘s new Creative Chef’s handiwork, we certainly did get to try out some of Delicious‘ hearty, wholecome creations–undoubtedly another highlight of this event.

Six&Seven @ Parkroyal on Beach Road – CNY Dinner!

As you’ve already read from Saunder’s CNY spotlight on Parkroyal Hotel, Six&Seven went down to the Plaza Brasserie to try out their Prosperity Buffet Feast that they’ve launched for this festive season.

The Plaza Brasserie may not be a new kid on the block, but with practically full houses on weekends (and even some weekday nights as we’ve seen!), it does say something about the quality and taste of what they have to offer. I know I enjoyed every meal there.

Known for their spread of local favourites–their succulent Hainanese chicken is the first thing I pile on my plate each time I visit–expect yourself to pig out ’cause it’s Oyster Omelette, Roasted Meats, Roti Prata and then some!

Six&Seven @ Pan Pacific Orchard Cocktail Party

In this season of celebration, Six&Seven was recently invited to a cocktail party at Pan Pacific Orchard! Seriously, who would say object to catching up with friends, as well as making cool, new acquaintances?

Home to the calm and classy 10@Claymore – which I can’t wait to visit again – this branch of Pan Pacific is hidden behind Palais Renaissance and often overlooked, which is what makes this gem all the more exclusive.
