Summer Palace, Regent Singapore has always been one to watch for their stellar line-up of mooncakes—their savoury Baked Parma Ham Assorted Nuts Mooncake ($70, 4pcs; $45, 2pcs) with premium 24-month cured Parma ham, pork floss and hint of orange peel remains one of my personal favourites—and unique packaging.

This year, their mooncake box takes on a more fun spin with a soft, red felt casing that opens up into a Chinese chess board. Each mooncake set also comes with its own Chinese chess set for the family to bond over.

Dim Sum Chef Leong Kwok Sing debuts two, local desserts-inspired mini snowskin mooncake creations this Mid-Autumn: the Chendol with White Chocolate and Momordica Fruit with Longan (both $64, 8pcs).

Of the two, I much preferred the former, where fragrant, smooth lotus seed paste is balanced with a delightful, creamy sweetness. I thought the ‘Cheng Tng’ rendition could have done with stronger Longan notes.

Other snowskin signatures include the Black Sesame Paste with Melon Seeds, Granny Smith with Lemongrass Chocolate, Green Tea with Melon Seeds, White Lotus Paste with Yolk & Melon Seeds and crowd-favourite of Durian.

There’s also ultra luxe, limited edition Regent’s Golden Treasure ($128, 8 pcs) that marries the best of bird’s nest and custard.
