I’ve always been a fan of the various promotions at Oscar’s. The team at Conrad Centennial Singapore seems to be extremely blessed with their choice of guest chefs or promotional creations, delighting both hearts and stomachs with outstanding offerings each time round – the restaurant’s sublime Braised Veal Tongue and rich, comforting Taglierini tossed with butter, Parmesan and black Italian truffle shavings from earlier this year are some of the dishes I hope will eventually make a return.

And priced at only $69 per adult for weekday dinners, Oscar’s – which includes a good spread of delightfully fresh seafood on their buffet lineup – makes for an extremely decent dining spot within the CBD area.

From 5 November to 4 December 2015, tuck into the rich and vibrant flavours of Latin American cuisine, featuring full-flavoured dishes from Latino locales, such as Argentina, Aruba, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, and Peru.

Highlights include the Feojada de Porko, a moreish and hearty black beans stew studded with savoury medallions of pork sausage; a la minute Beef Tacos, served with velvety, homemade Guacamole and a piquant Chipotle mayonnaise; Huachinango en Costra de Sal (Red snapper wrapped in banana leaf and baked in salt crust seasoned with Tequila); as well as additions of scallops, mussels and king crab from Chile to the chilled seafood station.

Oscar’s “Savouring Latin America” promotion is priced at $59 per adult, $29.50 per child for lunch, Monday to Saturday; $69 per adult, $34.50 per child for dinner, Sunday to Thursday; $80 per adult, $40 per child for dinner, Friday to Saturday; and $80 for Sunday brunch ($158 for free-flow Louis Roederer Brut Premier NV Champagne, house wines or beer).
