The famed and popular Penang Hawkers’ Fare buffet at the York Hotel Singapore, incepted in 1986, returns once more!

From now till 29 March 2015, satiate your taste buds with unlimited servings of thoroughly authentic and heart-warming Penang street fare as 22 of Penang’s favourite hawkers transform the hotel’s White Rose Cafe into a celebration of the island’s best dishes.

While the delicious Oyster Omelette is a no-show this time round, diners can look forward to a new Char Koay Kak stall. Said to be the lesser known cousin of the popular Char Kway Teow, this Penang offering uses handmade ‘koay kak’ (squares of rice cake), instead of flat rice noodles, that are first steamed, then fried with lard and served up with sauces, pickled vegetables and bean sprouts.

Other highlights include the extremely flavourful Kway Teow (available both soup or dry), the delightfully crisp and buttery Ban Chang Kueh, Penang Prawn Mee, and Penang Lor Bak amongst others.
